Paris Saint-Germain keen to sign 11-year-old called Kylian Mbappe, who plays for the same youth club as Paul Pogba
Paris Saint-Germain have made an approach to sign 11-year-old youth footballer called… Kylian Mbappe.Playing for local side Roissy-en-Brie, where Paul Pogba spent his formative years, the younger Mbappe shares similarities with his more famous namesake, as French publication Le Parisien report.Mbappe on the day he signed for Paris Saint-Germain.2

Just like the current PSG and France star, he likes to dribble where the ball sticks to his feet like glue and their dads are from Cameroon.“I’ve often been asked if I’ve purposely named my son that way,” Eric, his father, told Le Parisen, pointing out there is only eight years between the two players, meaning nobody knew of Mbappe ‘senior’ – he turned 20 in December – when the younger Kylian was born.Asked about his famous name, the younger Mbappe said he has grown used to the attention it brings.“I do not pay attention even if it makes me rather happy,” he said. “As a PSG fan, I would like to have the same career as him.” His dad, though, won’t push him to follow the same path when asked about the Ligue 1 giant’s interest.“My son will do what he wants and we will not push him at all costs to become a professional footballer,” he said, but did add he is at his happiest when playing football. The 20-year-old Mbappe has taken huge strides in his short career so far. Having broken through at Monaco as a 17-year-old, he won the Ligue 1 title in 2017 then joined PSG on loan later that summer ahead of a permanent 165m transfer in 2018.Mbappe celebrates scoring PSG’s second goal of the game in his side’s Champions League win against Man United2

However, he has revealed he came close to joining Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger doing his best to persuade him to head to England prior to this switch to the French capital.Mbappe has won the World Cup with France, scoring in the final, and has enjoyed more league success in Paris. He is also close to helping his team into this season’s Champions League quarter-finals, having scored at Old Trafford against Man United in the 2-0 first leg win.
