Simon Jordan has responded to talkSPORTs exclusive interview with Laurence Bassini, and still believes his prospective takeover is not good news for Bolton.In a rare chat with Jim White, Bassini laid out his plans for the Trotters if his purchase of the in-trouble club goes through and assured fans their beloved Bolton would be in good hands.

During Fridays interview, Bassini said Jordan kept phoning me day after day, driving me mad about an offer to join him in business to purchase Pompey, and then turned and got all funny on me after Bassini said no.But, in response to the interview on Fridays Jim White show, Jordan said that was a bag of nonsense.He also reiterated his view that Anderson selling to Bassini would be a carnival of horrors for Bolton.Listen, we spoke on Wednesday about him and I had some views and I dont expect him not to have some views back on me, said Jordan.My experiences with Laurence were – I got a phone call out of the blue back in 2012 because he had read my book, he announced himself as Laurence Bassini and I said, I have no idea who you are.He talked about wanting to get me back in football, which I had no interest in whatsoever. Then he talked to me about Portsmouth, and I has certainly had no interest in getting involved with Laurence on any level, given what I spoke to him about, how he came across. I listen to him now and I still think hes a bag of nonsense. His opinions are his own. The proof of the pudding with Laurence will be what he does when he goes into Bolton.Its none of my business, but Im being asked for a view on it.Its a carnival of horrors as far as Im concerned for Bolton fans, with Ken Anderson passing onto Laurence Bassini.As I said on Wednesday, Im not surprised Bassini has been kept in the background. Hell either do what he says he will do, or he wont.But listen, youve got to go some, mate, to get booted out of the football club and be disqualified from being a part of a football club for three years – these are not things that come along randomly.By the way, theres nothing wrong with being bankrupt. That should not be held against him and if hes come back and rebuilt himself then fair play to him. Theres nothing wrong with that at all.If hes going to put his money where his mouth is and hes going to have the best interests of the club in mind, thats one thing.But my view is hes not going there for the benefit of Bolton, hes going there for the benefit of Laurence Bassini as he did at Watford.Bolton chairman Ken Anderson is eager to sell the club3

If I was in Boltons shoes, I would take administration and a 12 point deduction rather than Bassini, with respect.But if hes going to do a job at Bolton, you will see that over the fullness of time, and then guys like me can say: You know what, I was wrong. The first time around I thought he was a buffoon, but the second time hes not, hes the real dealWe’ll let you decide if he’s joking or not.
