Alderweireld, 29, was heavily linked with a 50million move to Manchester United last summer – and was believed to be former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinhos number one target.But Tottenham refused to sell their star defender, who has helped them challenge for the Premier League title this season.He said: “I’m very happy to stay another year. “It was (a clause) in my contract and I’m happy Spurs gave me the confidence to stay another year.“I’m only focused on things on the pitch. People can see every time I play that I give 100 per cent for this club – this is what I keep doing every time I play.“This is my fourth season and I’m very happy. I’m doing everything to help the team.”



Despite the club facing the prospect of Europa League football next season, Solskjaer says the size of the club will always prove an attractive proposition to players and insists that plenty of agents have been in touch claiming their clients would like to move to Old Trafford.
