Herrera has been a peripheral figure at Old Trafford so far this season and he has started only two of the club’s 12 Premier League games.But it has been reported that three clubs from outside of England are all hoping to sign the Spaniard either on a free in the summer or in a knock-down deal in January.Clubs from outside England are allowed to open talks with Herrera regarding a pre-contract agreement in January, while United may look to sell him during the window to avoid losing him for absolutely nothing in the summer. His former club Athletic Bilbao, who he left to join United in 2014, are keen on luring him back to the San Mames while Atletico Madrid are also in the running.Meanwhile Roma, who are in the market for a new central midfielder, are also said to be keeping close tabs on Herrera’s situation and could make their move in January.
